NEW DELHI - Sathya Sai Baba, a Hindu religious leader who is considered "gods" by millions of followers all over the world, turned out to meet death as well as other human beings on Sunday (24/04/2011) due to failure of various organs at a hospital near his ashram south India. He died at the age of 84.
Sai Baba died in hospital after mejalani Puttaparthi intensive care for three weeks over there. Prayer and praise that conveyed his followers could not bring the magic for healing Sai Baba.
Sai Baba is a magician famous in the world to fool his followers with cheap tricks. For his followers, the ability of Sai Baba's magic power is believed to be magical, but the rational criticized and called nothing more than hoaxes.
Followers cried hysterically when his body was taken by ambulance from the hospital towards ashramnya, where he was placed in the coffin of glass with gold plate.
"The death of Sri Sathya Sai Baba is a profound loss for all," said the Prime Minister of India, Mahmohan Singh in a statement. "This nation is grieving," he continued.
Thousands of his followers believed to be thronged his funeral to be held on Wednesday (27 / 4). Authorities spread more than 10,000 security forces to secure the Sai Baba's funeral.
Sai Baba was born with the name of Sathyanarayana Raju on November 23, 1926, from a family in Puttaparthi, a village in the state of Andhra Paradesh.
In 1940 he declared that he is the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba, a man who is also considered to be "god" and died in 1918.
AFP news agency wrote, the followers of Sai Baba is a leading, among them the former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee, judges, actors, generals, and political leaders of the country. Included in the millions of adherents is the Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and Hollywood movie star, Goldie Hawn.
Spiritual teachings of Sai Baba spread, got a lot of followers in various parts of the world, including Indonesia. On various occasions Sai Baba who is often regarded as the holy man asserted his doctrine is not a religion and not a particular sect of religion that already exist.
According to millions of people around the world who believe, Baba has supernatural powers such as juggling objects just like that, knowing the life stories of people in the past, and able to treat the deadly disease, and even revive the dead. But in reality, he himself was unable to escape from death.
Involved sexual harassment
A person who is considered "sacred" and a half the village was not immune from sin. He has been accused of sexually abusing several teenagers. In 1993 six of his followers were killed in his ashram, four diantarnya accused of trying to kill Sai Baba. This incident was never really resolved.
